Comura vs BookingKoala for cleaning businesses

Last verified August 24, 2026. Prices change; we re-check quarterly and date every claim.

The honest verdict, first.

BookingKoala is the best pure booking form in the cleaning industry, nine years of iteration deep, with a full website builder included from $27 a month and no per-user fees. If your customers come through your website and you're glad to handle everything else yourself, it's excellent value and we won't pretend otherwise. Comura starts from a different observation: for most cleaning businesses, the web form is not where most jobs arrive. They arrive as calls and texts, at hours the owner is cleaning, and BookingKoala has no answer for those, by design.

The price, honestly compared.

$27 a month covers 5 cleaners (no SMS, no GPS, no reports), $57 covers 15 with SMS running through your own Twilio account at your own usage cost, and $197 adds the marketing suite. No per-user fees, which is genuinely rare and good.

If the left column is all you need, buy BookingKoala; at that job it's nearly ten times cheaper than us. The right column is the actual difference.

What stays yours to do on BookingKoala.

The phone, entirely: there is no call capability at any tier, which is why third-party AI-phone vendors sell bolt-ons for it. Inbound texts: notifications go out through your Twilio, but when a customer replies with a question, a human reads and answers it. Anything off-form: "how much for a move-out with pets?" asked by phone or text gets quoted by hand. Collections and exceptions: reminders fire on your schedule, and failed cards, reschedule requests, and rebooking conversations land on you. Their happiest customers say it put booking "on autopilot," and that's accurate: web bookings, on autopilot. The rest of the office is still the owner.

Two facts a buyer should weigh.

In March 2025, BookingKoala went down for two full weeks, during which customers couldn't take bookings at all; the company issued a one-month credit, and reviewers reported payout discrepancies and duplicate charges for months after. Businesses run on their software should ask any vendor, us included, what happens when it breaks. Second, their review tool shows external review links only to customers who leave a good internal rating. Google's policy prohibits selectively asking happy customers ("review gating") and violations can put a Business Profile at risk; Comura sends every customer the review invite and handles unhappy ones by alerting you first and delaying, never skipping, the ask.

Where BookingKoala wins.

Price, decisively, for the web-booking job. A real website builder included, which Comura doesn't have. The deepest booking form in the niche: multi-step forms, gift cards, referral programs, coupons, a customer self-service portal. Built-in email marketing at the top tier. Nine years of edge cases, and no per-user fees anywhere.

Questions owners actually ask.

No. Theirs has more features, and we'd rather tell you that. Ours does one thing theirs doesn't: it takes the deposit at booking, so a confirmed slot is a committed customer. The larger difference is that our bookings also come from calls and texts, not just the form.
